I originally bought a Pypes system at Carlisle to install on my 70. Several years later when I started to install it I discovered during a call with them that they sold me a 76 up (IIRC) system that did not have the flat area on the top of the pipes.

They exchanged the system for me on a subsequent trip to Carlisle. Both were without mufflers a I like the sound of the Magnaflow mufflers.

After several hours installing, or attempting to, the new system I was unhappy with the fit & the placement of the pipes at the rear spring. I needed someone to make up the transition piece from the headers to their system anyway so I elected to give up and have a custom install done. Keep in mind I'm working on my back on an asphalt driveway with the car on jack stands in the July/Aug heat & humidity

I had American Racing Headers fabricate a system using the Magnaflow mufflers & I am very happy with their work.

I sold the Pypes system to a fellow forum member who got a great deal

I know it will take some work to make them fit with the headers and the 700R4, if this seems to take alot of modification I will send it back and buy a DIY kit.

Its getting sent back, the xpipe it self is to narrow to line up to the headers and the S pipes the sent t widen to connect to headers is to wide, pipes out back of x pipe point directly at the LCA mount requiring the exhaust to go under loosing more ground clearance.

You would think a company like Pypes would look at the number of C3 exhaust systems being sent back because of poor design and fit and correct the problem. I sent mine back because it didn't fit right, I guess some companies just don't care if the customer is satisfied with their products. Lets just keep telling the forum members here about the problems with their C3 exhaust systems and maybe they will redesign it to fit. Maybe someone should send this thread to the president of Pypes he may not even be aware that they have a problem.

I should have sent mine back as well. We finally got it to fit reasonably well, but it involved a lot of cutting and rewelding. Responses from Pypes would indicate their customer service is less than stellar and I doubt if feedback has led to any production quality control changes. I certainly cannot recommend them based on my experience.
