I have. I was warned by others that it's not a perfect fit and requires tweaking, so I was prepared. I had to cut and weld a few sections. The end result is great. Just don't think you can bolt it on and go.

I know nothing is bolt and go, trying to decide if i want to use their system or buy a build your own kit. I don't want to spend the 450 for the kit and don't want to spend all weekend making a system lol

My system required a ridiculous amount of cutting and rewelding. If I had it to do all over again I would have gotten a custom system from a quality muffler shop. Only plus is that it's a true mandrel bent system, but a good shop would have done that for me as well.

There aren't any shops in the area that can do mandrel bent exhaust around here (I've looked).

Custom shop around here would have used individual mendrel bends and welded it together. Would have cost at least 2x what the pypes system cost and I would have had a lot of seams. I don't regret going with pypes even though I had to spend several hours making it fit.

I installed a Pypes system on my 76 several years ago but I did not use their down pipe from the exhaust manifold. I used my own 2 ½" down pipe I had on the car.

My down pipes mated up perfectly with the Pypes X pipe back. I did not have to do any cutting or welding.

Allens systems are the top of the line....it takes longer to remove the old stuff than to install the new set from Allens Exhaust systems....Not cheap or nor are they too pricy...But you get what you pay for also.......

I bought a system from Corvette Central with the Magnaflows a few years back. Good price and caught one of their free shipping deals. No problems on the install.

The X pipe is the worst part of their kit it doesn't fit very good and the way they mate the two pipes at the X it looks like it is restricting the flow. Jegs sent me the Magnaflows and paid all the shipping both ways to return the Pypes.

My exhaust guy, thankfully a friend who charged me friendly rates, showed me how crooked the X-pipe was. He basically had to cut it up & rework it. It came out nice and, in spite of what the X looks like where the pipes mate, it doesn't seem to have any flow restrictions. Picked up some serious trap speed for me at the dragstrip. That said, if Magnaflow allowed me to order their mandrel system w/o their mufflers, I would have bought it. I just couldn't see pizzing that $$$ away when I love my UltraFlos.

If the Xpipe is crooked it will get sent back, modifying to make work on my application is one thing, cutting apart to fix their error is unacceptable. I hope this goes smoothly.

The stuff I modified on my pypes system was:
  1. Tweaked (bent) the mid section so the pipes pointed further up in the rear. This was to get maximum ground clearance where the pipes go under the spring.
  2. Cut and re-welded in two spots so the S-pipe mated with the header collectors
  3. Cut and re-welded rear pipes to fit with my mufflers (not sourced from pypes).

#1 is not pypes fault. They don't know what kind of headers I have.
#2 is pypes fault. Their system should be designed to maximize ground clearance, especially on a car as low as a vette.
#3 is not pypes fault. I used mufflers that have a longer case than what pypes uses. I also wanted them tucked way up.

There was nothing wrong with the X-pipe as delivered from pypes.

I have Pypes on my 82. Make sure you tell them your exact year. In my case I had to tell them I had the stock stainless steel headers and we still had some figment issues... They were very helpful and this was 3 years ago! I'm sure they have it all worked out by now.
