Default classic headlight issue question

I have some kind of new headlight issue. I have did some research and look at the schematics but thought I would see if anyone has a suggestion from the symptoms I have.

The headlight switch will not raise the headlights.
The override switch will raise the headlights.
The wiper cowl works with the wiper switch and with override.

Finally, if i raise the headlights with headlight switch they stay down and lights come on, but if I use override switch they go up. If I than use the headlight switch to turn off the lights they go down.

It seems I can lower my headlights once they are up but cant raise them with my headlight switch.

Any suggestions on where to look first?

thanks
jim

Hi Jim,
Are the 2 hoses that attach to the light switch nipples reversed?
The blue striped hose goes on the forward nipple. It should run from that nipple to the lower port on the pull-down override switch.
Some literature shows that hose on the wrong light switch nipple.
Regards,
Alan

I believe the light switch is connected right. It had worked in this configuration in the past. I just tried to go look at it and figured the best I can see is the blue striped is coming from the switch and connecting to the bottom half of the override. I couldn't reach or see up to where it was connected.

I got a little wild and started taking off the instrument panel to look but remembered how much of a pain it is to remove and put back so I stopped. There inst an easier way to remove headlight switch is there other than removing the instrument panel is there ?

The AIM is not all that clear.
The vacuum hose connects from the back of the headlight switch to the bottom of the pull down switch.
