Default 1969 Headlight

1969 corvette BB convertible
My outside head light bulb is not totally vertical as other bulbs.
Is it the bulb or the bulb holder cone.
I ordered the holder unit, same result. Returned it.
Moved bulb to right side, it fit properly. It is off vertical about an quarter of turn clockwise.
Have interchanged them, same result.

you are aware there are two screws for adjusting headlight alignment? have you used them to align the light?

I am talking about the position of attaching the bulb to the housing, not the alignment after installation.
Thanks

A shot in the dark but the metal pots that the headlights go into are different. Each is marked with a letter beside one of the mounting slots.

The order matters, C B D A going from left to right looking at the front of the car.
If the wrong pot is in the wrong location it can cause the condition your seeing

Hi,
These pics shows the screws Mooser posted from the side so you can see how the adjustment screws move the position of the cup.
Regards,
Alan

Notice the odd screw that mounts the ring to the cup. Might you have the wrong screw at that location and it's limiting the cup's movement?

You are right on, I do not have the C, do have 2 b's a D and A.
Thank you

I've never figured why they are in that odd order (C B D A) rather than something more sequential, probably makes sense in some context
