Default Fast Efi Fuel line

Hello

I'm planning to mount a Fast Efi system, kit 30227, on my 72 and i have a question about the fuellines, hopefully someone can help.
Is anyone running this system with the original fuellines?, 3/8" feed and 1/4" return i think.

Thanks in advance

The 3/8" feed is fine. The 1/4 return is not recommended. Some have gotten away with it, but it should be the same size as the feed. You can check out the new tank/pump combo from Edelbrock:

You'd mount this in the engine compartment, and just hook it to your existing feed line. This way you do not need to run a new return.

I've been thinking about using that kit if I ever do EFI, but I'm wondering where I would mount it in a fully dressed AC car... since I don't have electric fans, I was thinking on the steering crossmember somewhere.

Thoughts?

An AC car is pretty much filled up as far as the engine compartment goes. Not sure if you could find a spot for it.

I went with a custom stainless tank from rock valley. It has the pump in it. I used the factory line as feed and added a 3/8" steel line for the return.

Also look at the Aeromotive Phantom system- neat piece.

Here's how I did mine- replaced both lines -same size. Remember at idle over 90% of your fuel is returned to the tank.

I have the Fast Ez-EFI kit on my car, and I used the 3/8" feed and had one of the automotive tubing vendors manufacture a pre-bent 3/8" return line for me that exactly mimicked the 1/4" return line. It fit exactly where the smaller line was perfectly.

How hard was it to replace the line on the car? Did you have the body off?

It wasn't terribly difficult; I unbolted the body bolts on the passenger side and also removed the rear passenger side chrome bumper and jacked up the body about 2" using a block of wood under the rocker at the middle of the door. With the help of a buddy, we were able to snake the line up the rear frame kick up pretty easily - I was actually surprised how easy it went! I also had the car on jack stands about 24" off the ground.

You have to use 3/8 return.. You can run the return along side the feed line if you want to make it super easy. And when I did mine I used the 1982 sending unit and mounted the Fast in tank pump to it.
