Hello guys,
my 1973 big block is missing the extension shroud...it used to have AC but p.o. removed it.
I would like to know which extension should I put in it? is this the right part???:

and does the fan or shroud need to come off to install it?..or is it a fairly simple job???

This is the correct part, and its the same as the link you provided. Do you need to remove the shroud to install it.. nope, but it is a pain to install with the shroud in the car, and removing the shroud is more of a pain.
IMHO, I'd not add this. The gain is so little vs. the cost and the job to install it.
