Default AC part?

Can anyone tell me what part I just broke? It is part of the AC, but does not match any pictures in my 1979 assembly manual.

Thanks
Zorro

Well I believe that is the heater diverter valve that closes off the flow of hot water when the AC is turned on. That wire comes from the temp sensor and I believe that black hose is a vacuum hose that should connect to the valve somewhere down there. My 78 is a little different.

That's your bellows type thermostatic switch for cycling the compressor when the evap coil reaches the set tmep, you broke the cap tube from the bellows.

That is the part! Thank you all. The tube on the part runs up under some insulation, you can see it in the bottom photo I posted. Any idea where it ends up, or how it attaches?

Thanks again.

The bulb is inserted into the fins on the coil inside the coil box.
