Default Are my valve covers upside down, or backwards?

I repainted the valve covers when I pulled the manifold, and was careful to take pictures and reinstall everything the way it came off. I showed my mechanic buddy the new pictures and he said my rocker cover was backwards!

Are my covers upside down, or are they on the wrong sides? I think they may be both upside down and on the wrong sides...

The valve cover profile has one edge curved more than the other. I originally thought that the curved side was up, but changed it after checking my reference pictures.

Looks stock position to me, oil filler cap at back, LH breather hole that goes to the manifold and RH breather hole that goes to the air cleaner

He thought the oil filler was supposed to be up front, but if that's stock I'll keep it just as it is...

It's too bad manifolds won't stay that clean. That looks great!

where the heck do you find people like that? the fact is there is no backwards or upside down its just about where you need the connections or filler.
