Nice setup Dave….I figured if I was going to make some noise might as well let them see it too lol. The 6-71 is a small bore only boosting about 7.5 lbs now with the engine at 420 inches …once I get everything dialed in and the frame all stiffened for extra power I will upgrade to a nice 8-71 and see if I can't hit the 900-1000hp mark.

yeah good point, i do like the on top super chargers

what part of the frame are you planning on stiffing ? - thinking most of the power will be spun away through wheels, unless u stick on drag slicks etc??

ive spent a fortune on various drive line stuff, like a 4.11 diff from traccdogg, which can handle alot more power, the bigger half-shafts, etc, tremec t56 magnum gearbox, engine sbc 383 built to handle alot more horse power as well, getting the l88 flares etc just now, so i can use wider wheels, fitted 335x30x18, also running fast xfi to control fueling better etc etc

cheers

I decided that as much as the IRS is great I will not be auto crossing with the car so I took it all out and ordered the Autofab kit with the fabricated M9 Moser housing and 3.50 gears. Since it is automatic I opted for Wilwood brakes and no Emer cable stuff. My car already has the flares so I am trying to have my 29X15X15 tires tuck except for the sidewalls. The rear is shorter then most at 54 inches but mostly due to the 3.5 in BS rims I ordered to give it that true old car pro street deep rim look. Depending on how it looks I was thinking about reshaping the flares on the outside to mold from the bottom edge straight up to the top of the fender so I can hog out the underneath a bit and let the car sit lower on the tires.

I have the Holley HP computer running my EFI and Meth injection. The frame will get some gussets in corners, the motor mount perches boxed in, and maybe even some extra cross bars to hold it straight. I made my roll bar but it is totally removable at the moment. Depending on how the car reacts to when I put some power to the ground will decide if I need to weld up a real roll cage to make it work. I have a matching set of rims and 12in by 29 slicks waiting to give it a workout ))

Are you going to run race fuel or meth injection to keep it from knocking during boost???
I wanted to be able to drive anywhere so went with Meth.

Iam planning on doing more autocross stuff, so keeping it irs, but like u say for you the other setup will suit u better

in the UK, i think will have better fuel octane, so hoping not too have to run any meth, just have to see what happens

ive got the holley Dominator EFI for my off road race car, still need to set it all up lol

The dominator setup was very impressive for adjustability. I just did not need that many inputs and outputs to control. Actually I do not think I have any Inputs right now and using 3 of the outputs lol. I bought the Holley 2 stage fuel pump and have the second stage on the first output and the meth kit on the other two. It is a huge learning curve for all the EFI setup but now I can adjust how the engine does anything with a few keystrokes. Was getting the old blower surge but just richened it up a tad and a bit more timing and poof virtually gone

I love the 6-71 coming out of the hood but I went a different way.

Procharger F1, custom mounting bracket to put it on the right side of the motor. All fits under the stock 73 hood.

No way will if work with your new belt set up, but maybe give you more ideas.

How much are you boosting with the F1??? I was thinking about the same type of setup but decided that since the car is already flared why not just take it all the way lol.

Have you already upgraded the IRS??

Thanks for the interest. The dam thing might even run this year.

It is on the drivers right (passengers side), my reasoning was the normal ProChargers set up is on the drivers side. This puts the intake right over the headers (hot air bad). With the custom bracket, I was able to move the PC unit down and forward allowing clearance under the stock hood.

Since I removed the heater and AC, I will now have the intake plumbed into the passengers side fender well. Of course that will be enclosed into a well insulated custom air box.

Boost will be anywhere up to 20 psi.

As far as the IRS, the upgrade is in the works after I have an issue, which should happen real quick if it ever hooks up

Yeah, the possibility of a half shaft coming through the floor is not a good thing lol.
That is why my new rear end is sitting at home waiting for me before I had the chance to get the engine finished and tuned. One good hook and its all over lol

When you say custom bracket for mounting the PRO, does that mean you custom built the mounting bracket? I'm going to be using a customized bracket for a vortech V1 to keep it under the hood. I really like your idea. T

Thanks for thr kind words..Without hijacking the thread, yes the ProCharger mounting is custom built. Made a templete out of wood and contracted New ERA to build it. They said they would never do another one...it gave him a headache

Its funny but when I was deciding to go Procharger or roots style I came across a guy who had made a bracket just like that and said NEVER AGAIN!!!! Maybe it was the same guy lol. He said he would share the cad plans but I was on my own after that.
