Bonehead move, but we removed our engine for rebuild and didn't have enough forsight to roll up the power windows.
It doesn't seem to be as simple as putting battery power to the cables that connected to starter hot and ground, I'm guessing that there was an essential ground at the motor somewhere.
Can someone give me a simple, safe way/place to put some power to be able to raise the power windows while we have the motor out for rebuild?
Go to the power window relay.. and jump power to F... your switches should work then. Your car has a little different schematic than the one below.. but you'll get the idea.
You'll find this relay in the shift console as show below.. not fun.
You could remove the door panel and power up the motor or pull the parking brake console and power up the switch connector too..

you must have Gnd. - Battery to frame, you also need Frame to birdcage. (and normally Frame to engine.)
you have a big positive battery wire and smaller positive wire, where the starter was.
bolt all positive wires together, make sure you have no other wires loose,
and touching Gnd. Turn on Acc.

Caution in this area, is a small Black wire wire with a large ring lug.
DO NOT Connect that to positive wires.
That wire is your wiper Gnd . goes to bellhousing Bolt.
