Rear shock lower mount ?
The p/o of my 77 had replaced all the rear suspension pieces, trailing arms, bushings, brakes, etc and my question is this. The lower what I would call shock mounts have a stud that faces the rear of the car, it goes thru the lower portion of the spindle and the strut rod and has a castle nut on it. It looks as if there should be a cotter pin also but I dont have any there and the nuts were hand tight only. How tight are these supposed to be and should a cotter pin be installed also? As a secondary question with winter coming and the car sitting idle I think I will have the frt suspension redone, car drives very well nothing feels sloppy or leaks but figured I would then know frt and rear were all new. What all would you guys recommend replacing? Just rubber items or more? Thanks for any and all input.
