Dammit, I can't find the thread where a poster was documenting his project, and in one of his pictures, tranny fluid leaked out on the floor because he pulled the engine with the converter still attached to the flex plate. I want to ask him approximately how much came out. I plan on pulling my engine the same way, except I want to first drain just the amount that would spill out the front.
1 quart? 2 quarts maybe? The fluid was just changed in this TH400 transmission, and it's working perfect right now. I am replacing the converter, and I don't see the need to replace the total amount of fluid.
How much should I drain out the bottom pan so that when the converter comes out, the fluid level is just below the hole?
