Default restore

Hi Tommy Lee, Now that's a pretty dirty engine. from the location of the vacuum relay and the actuator it tells me that this is a late model 69. Not sure what you mean. Does the motor run, are you planning to pull it out, what does the rest of the car look like, frame good. There are many things to look at and review. Do you want a driver, original car , resto mod. These are some of the things that ran thru my head when I first got mine. Can you clean the engine, sure, all depends on what you are thinking of doing. I know you have seen my post and everything that I am going thru. Not always fun and can get expensive. Lets see the rest of the car and the frame.

Looks like a complete original base engine car to me. It would be a shame to lose all that by misguided attempts to 'restore' it.

I'd give it a good cleaning and leave it alone.

I agree. Make notes of the factory finishes you find.

Ok TommyLee I do remember you other post where the car is buried under a bunch of stuff. That really looks like a nice car with a lot of potential. lots of stuff looks original from the little I can see. I will keep in touch. Can you move it enough to get started cleaning it.

Hi TL,
Wow!
This looks like a very interesting project.
I think it's premature to have to decide just what you'll want to do with the car and thus just how to proceed this early on.
You mention wanting try to to bring it back (or forward) to what it was when it left St.Louis.
You need to discover just what this car was in 1969, and just what it will take in finances, labor, and most of all commitment, to have it be that car again
Only when you understand the implications of what you want to do with the car can you know if you can actually do this, and then you'll need guidance in how to get started and proceed.
For now take pictures of ANYTHING you're going to remove from the car, and throw absolutely NOTHING away.
From the few pictures it appears you may be able to restore THIS car and not just restore/rebuild it with parts you assemble from various sources.
Do you know about the NCRS…. the National Corvette Restorers Society?
Regards,
Alan
