Default Old School VS. New School opinion?

Just got these new wheels and tires. I am torn as to which I prefer. The new are tt2's 225/55r16 on 16X8 front 235/55r17 rear both have 4 inch backspacing. The old Kelsey Hayes are 245/60r15 front and 275/60r15 rear. The 15s not quite an inch taller then the 16-17 combo.

Easy....old school. If you want a new Vette buy one. Otherwise, Chevy did it right when they built it. Of course, thats my opinion. I understand customizing, but every time I see an original looking car or motorcycle, I say....yeah! That's what I fell in love with way back when.

I'm getting used to the 18s on mine - when I saw your 16s I thought they were 15s... not much difference IMO.

Both look great. I like 16s on C3, but the tire selection just sucks!! The 16s are a little narrow for me in the front. What brand and spec are the tires? I can't find rubber to fit my 16" wheels!

On your car I like the 15's-
Now if you could wrap more tire around the rears (taller sidewall) then maybe.

I like the TT's. But I like the tire fit on the 15's better.

the 15's fit the wheel well way better, but i like the torque thrust wheels, if you could get the tires in better sizes.

I'm a big time TT guy, but I've got to agree with the sentiments. The old school wheels fit that car.

Front and rear are DUNLOP DIREZZA DZ101 high performance tires. I picked these tire sizes to get as close to the height on the 15s as I could. This is about as tall as I could find in a 16 without going to a truck tire. When you go wider then the 55s the tire height goes way down. The front 225/55r16 are 25.7 tall vs. 26.6 on the 245/60r15 and the rear 235/55r17 are 27.2 tall vs. 28.0 on the 275/60r15s.These tires have decent width so that part doesn't bother me. I mainly wanted this set for autocrossing and think they will serve me well for that purpose. Plenty of clearance and a much narrower sidewall. The rear 15s would roll when autocrossing and rub on the spring end.

I found the following tool to be most helpful when picking a wheel and tire. You can compare old to new.
