If aesthetics is your goal, I don't think you can beat the look of a belt-driven fan & clutch assembly.

But, I am not one to mess with things that don't need messin'!

FWIW, the '69 7-blade fans look fairly normal. I do believe you are thinking of the later years that have the tips on the end of the blade.

My 72 has a completely stock and mostly original setup with ALL the radiator foam and sealers in place. I have been stuck in stop and go traffic with no overheating trouble. The car is fully loaded all options and A/C. The car is all bone stock. I run 60 % anti-freeze / 180 stat.

In my 85 with a fully worked 383 +a/c I use ICE (both Jegs and Summit carry it) in the anti-freeze it cured a potential heat problem by almost 15 degrees. The cooling system is stock with a 160 high flow stat.
