Not trying to hijack the OP's thread, but would like to have some advice and opinions on springs. This is my 74 BB Vert when purchased 6 years ago. As you can see (at least to me) the ride height seems perfect with the stock suspension. I have the 550 replacement springs for the front (brand new) and already used the 340 lb rear spring in my 82.
I am thinking about just reusing the front stock springs and possibly use another 340 lb spring for the rear, or just rebuild the stock rear spring. I would like to keep the ride height shown in the pics.
Thanks for any comments.........................Tom
VBP suggested the bilstien or QA1 shocks as they felt the valving is too light in the KYB shocks. i think most people like the bilstien sport in the rear. i like the QA1 units i have. much improved ride over stock which surprised me. but handling is Vastly better.
I had Bilstein HD's with my 360 composite spring and felt it was not enough damping although MUCH better than the KYB gas a just. Bilstein Sports (30% stiffer than the HD's) in the rear now and they are perfect...
