That should make for a very nice 9.0 car if you can get her to hook )
Congrats
Thanks guys, its been a long time coming and a ton of port work. I will post of video of the final pull. I'm currently working on brakes so that I can woe this thing down on the quarter. Anyone know how to post an MOV video?
Nicely done! Just curious, was the barometric really 29.92 or did they just plug that in as a standard number? Thats not a really high number so you should make a little more with higher BP. Either way that engine will overpower most chassis's anyway.
That is impressive! It could be air bleed circuit or even booster type causing the lean outs at 3900 and 5100 rpm? The BFSC goes low and you have a momentary power loss.
Very impressive! That's going to be a blast! Look at that oil pressure.....very steady for a long stroke motor. What pan is on it?
Give us all the details one more time!
Congratulations!
JIM
Thanks Jim, It's been along time coming. I really appreciate you answering all of the Im's I've sent you over the past couple of years. The oil pan is the Milodon Deep Pan that you recommended to me a year or so ago. The block is a Dart with splayed caps. Calles Dragon Slayer with Manley Rods and JE pistons Clevite 77 Bearings, Heads are RHS 360's, 230 188 Manley's, Edelbrock Intake Special Race version similar to the 454 R, Quick fuel 1150 Dominator, MSD Probillet, the usual stuff, with a special grind Comp Solid Roller. Its around 700 lift with Jesel Rockers, and some proprietary cnc and port and polish work to the heads. The flow over 400+. Prior to porting we dyno'ed it and it made 775 which was just not enough for what we felt we could make with this combo. It does fall off a bit as gkull noted but my goal was 800 h.p at 6000 RPM and we nailed it with an 807 h.p right at 6000 rpm. It should last a while and produce solid torque numbers for the street. At 34 degrees total timing and the Jesel 1.7 Rockers I should see some additional gains if I choose to lean on it. For now I'm going to stay NA and just enjoy the car and not have to purchase 110 fuel like I did with my 427 13to1 motor, which is for sale complete by the way.
Once again that pan shows how well it works. What duration is the cam? LSA?
Those monster cube motors are tough to feed at higher RPM....so making all that power down low is going to be a blast with some reasonable gearing. What's the trans and rear gearing going to be?
