what is this?

1971 Corvette, this black box is bolted to the front of the intake manifold. Anybody know?

where do the wires go, the electric choke?

It measures manifold temperature to regulate the choke opening rate.

Hi HT,
The typical 71 sb manifold wouldn't have a boss or drilled hole for that bolt, so it's a replaced manifold too.

Thanks Alan. The motor is not the original. Based on the numbers on the block it looks like its out of a 73 Monte Carlo. It also has a 350 trans not the 400. Motor has a small cam, head work and the trans has some work done, shift kit etc. For what I paid for her, you normally dont get a motor just a roller. Im very happy, love the car. Thanks for all your help, Im sure I will have many more questions for you. Thanks, Bill
