Hello, I've been bought a new c3 steering wheel by my son to replace the tired old one that is in the car at the moment. I've now found that the steering column is a c4 with tele/tilt. Is there a hub adapter so I can still fit the steering wheel. Thanks john
When swapping wheels,
If the new wheel is aftermarket you have to get the right adaptor for the brand of steering wheel, and be careful that it keeps the tele feature, in the early days the adaptors did away with tele, then the adaptor I used for my 82 column is a big ugly bulky thing, but keeps tilt and tele...
But how did your c3 get a c4 column?????
Hello, i have posted a few pictures. Im sure its a stock c3 wheel, and looking at some mid/late 80's c4 steering wheel and column. I have only had the car for 6 months so im learning about it. Ive had 2nd gen camaros before so moving on up!
Judging by the tilt lever and turn signal stem, this is the correct column for your car but has a '86 and up steering wheel installed. You will need to track down the factory wheel adaptor, upper sheet metal bell, correct telly ****, horn contact, horn button, and related hardware.
