Default Radiator Shroud

Looking to replace the radiator shroud on my 68 and trying to keep it as original looking as possible. It was born August 1968 with a 327CI, 300HP. In looking at all of the catalogs I am confused as what would be the OE. Anyone have pictures or a link would be great. Thanks

Hi C,
Your car, assembled in August of 1968, would be a late build 68.
If your 327/300 is a 4-speed car WITHOUT a/c it would typically have had a steel shroud. It would have had an aluminum radiator.
If your base engine car HAS EITHER or BOTH automatic transmission and air conditioning, it would have typically had an unpainted black fiberglass re-enforced plastic shroud. It would have had a copper radiator.
Regards,
Alan

Sorry for the lack of info. 327CI/300HP, A/C with manual.
The current shroud is black plastic with small cut outs on the top of each side of the shroud almost like the fan hit it.

I agree with Alan. Factory air usually meant the plastic shroud. Do you have the 68 assembly instruction manual (AIM)? AIMs are worth their cost.

I do and was looking at it last night and was slightly confused. Before I ordered I was looking for verification.
Thanks

The original shroud for the 68 ac car would have been the same as the big block fan shroud (fiberglass). If you go to the C60 section you see that it references you to the L36 section with a note *Assembles the same as.

The shroud can be on back order from time to time as well, it ships direct from the manufacturer so if you do decide to order it from us, I'd call my guys in sales to see if it is in stock or if there would be any delay in shipment. Then I'd hammer one of the weekend sale codes and save some money.

Air cars also used a upper and lower extension, you'll find both of these at this link:
