Default 77 intake manifold
Am I stuck with my stock manifold? I've been told I can't get a new manifold because of clearance issues, unless I buy a new hood.

No, I have a 77 with a weiand intake. Using my original carb. and air cleaner.

a lot of intakes fit, some only need a dropped base air cleaner. no big deal at all.

Weiand 8125P . Cam is a Comp Cams XE-268H .

Not sure if the hoods are the same. I have an Edelbrock 2101 Performer on the 350 in my '74. It allows a 3" edelbrock air cleaner and a Holley carburater with electric choke. You can also put a 2" element in the air cleaner to gain an inch.

Here's a photo of 383 with an AirGap and 1" drop base 14x3 filter from Summit. I have 1/2" of clearance left over.

My 77 with stock hood, carb, and air cleaner, original 350 block. With the Weiand. Cover to air cleaner is after market. And no wing nut. Just a regular nut with a plug for a sink that was powder coated the same color as the air cleaner.
