Good job! I've heard big block chevy truck injectors from the late 80s work in our TBI . That might get you down to 80% duty cycle but 85 should be fine.
Thanks! I'm looking at getting the 454SS injectors. I think another member here has a set and was thinking of running them. I don't know if he actually did. The cool thing about running this new EBL system is now I can plug in the data for the injectors into the BIN files so the computer knows its running 90 lb/hr injectors. The system has also opened up tons of possibilities as far as cams. I'm not stuck with under 212 @50 duration anymore.

Good news then and congrats. Well thats something new to me also as i thought the TBI injectors always ran 100% duty cycle changing the amount open instead. Yes i know the multiports have duty cyle but i owned a '90 chev pu w/TBI and it looked like a steady flow/open injector to me when i watched it - guess its hard to see a 6 or 12 msec cycle time. So its good to know that now but i did have to look it up. I think i read the cross fire TBs alternate firing to help with low rpm where the injectors have to fire for <2msec.
Thx for sharing and good luck with the tuning. Hope u can find enough long empty roads. Keep us updated on what kind of performance u can get now with all those mods.
Started this quest by synchronizing the throttle bodies made a world of difference. I then proceeded to reset idle @ 475, TPS @ .525 and timing. My problem is GM says 6° @ 475 rpm correct? Problem is car has a ZZ4 long block now and GM says 10°@800 rpm. I set the timing at 8° while rpm at that time ranged from 775-800 rpm and she runs good but is there more hp sitting @ 10° unused?
Throw in a hyper chip to the mix what does that change?
Aldo with any engine, it will take as much timing as it will take. Keep advancing it until you experience pinging, hard cranking or loss of power. Then back off a little. My 82 is set between 10 and 12 degrees depending on the time of year. (Temperature / fuel grade). Seat of the pants testing works well and your idle will settle over time. As you change parameters the ECM will take 50 miles or so to relearn what you've done.
The stock tune in the ECM assumes your base timing is set at 6*, so if you advance it to 10*, at every point in the table, you have effectively advances your timing 4* over what the ECM thinks the timing is. Since the tables on the 82 ECM are very conservative, you will notice somewhat of an increase in performance. Unfortunately you can't adjust fuel delivery other than increasing pressure. Getting a programmable ECM would open up lots of opportunity for you if you decide to go that route. I wish I hadn't waited as long as I did.
i think you are right doesn't take 5 minutes time to tweak a little more out of it. I would have to say my biggest grip about my car is the lack of feel in my seat and i am not referring to my pinched nerves . I want some power out of it! not Tesla type power but not getting my *** beat by some old rust vw rabbit power either.
Does anyone have a set of 2" bore TBI's for sale with bigger injectors?
Nice to hear of your success. That's a good and relatively cheaper way to upgrade. The only cheaper way is using a stock TBI ECM only modified to allow easily chips swaps but saving the few bucks means you lose some very nice features.
Aldo - you really need to get rid of the stock ECM. You're just wasting time messing with it because you'll never get that stock one tuned properly.

Dammit! Actually got her running pretty smooth at the moment that is after i was going down the road and the dizzy popped out. Apparently i didn't have the clamp over the bottom of it.
