Thanks JC68. That is exactly what I saw when I looked at the 2 68's last weekend. The difference from the 69 is what prompted my question. I had never paid attention to the 68 in this area.

Hi John,
Good Pictures!
I'd have been willing to bet that the flapper doors were there from the beginning of Astro Ventilation for the 68 model year.
I've re-read the astro-ventilation section in the Chassis Service Manual and it appears the heater/defroster blower control was changed at some point too so that the blower is always on low speed anytime the ignition switch is on as part of making the system more effective.

For reference, those pic are the same as for my early 68 vert with A/C.
