Rear end,diff problems?
My rear end on the 74 has been behaving strange the last summer..
Its perfect when its cold and for a couple of miles,but then it locks up or something,its like its fully diffed all the time?
i have changed the oil and filled it with gm limited slip,but no change..
What could be wrong?

In the 1970s the GM dealer would drain the differential oil/refill the differential with automatic transmission fluild/drive the car in city traffic at speeds up to 40 mph making MANY left and right-hand turns for an hour/drain A-T fluid completely/refill with correct differential limited slip oil.
That procedure cured the problem.....UNLESS the clutches or gears were previously worn or damaged.
