yeah, actually i do believe that. Speaking of people with their noses in the air.... does *everyone* in this forum have a warped sense of automotive appreciation because they drive a vette? When's the last time anyone went to an import auto show? yeah that's what i thought. open your eyes a little bit to the rich world of automotive art in design that's all around you.

i dunno maybe its because i'm only 23 and 78% of my income goes to fixing up my car(you think i'm kidding too, dont you). I have as much appreciation for the guy that spends that kind of time and attention on his ride, no matter what it is. even if its a HONDA.

who cares that it is powered by whatever???? the point for me is that they have all the crazy badging on the car to what,...try and look fast?? let everyone know that they have a vtec???..i think the fast rice are sleepers..no crap on them...the rest are kids with enough money for the car and a few stickers...last week i was driving along and passed a punk in a Cavailer with the rims and fart can..about 20 sec. later he goes flying by...when i caught him a few lights later, i looked over and said" you wanna try that now?"...what does he say?? i was just F%#kin with you man..sweet ride, what's in it, yadda yadda yadda....that my friends is about 90% of the rice boys out there....the ones with no stickers are the ones to watch out for.....my .02...

that's just the point! right there, you said it. he wasn't actually trying to race you, he was MOCKING YOU. some people don't have the financial capabilities to be souping up vettes or even civics for that matter. this guy drives a cavalier. he puts a buzz muffler and a few decals on there just to **** you off! afterall, the $30 investment he's made in those useless parts will provide him with endless hours of entertainment as every big shot on the street with a nice motor feels the urge to pull up next to him at a stop light and try to spit game. of course you're car is faster than his. at least he knows it and isn't trying to prove anything.

PS... in case no one has caught on yet, i'm just arguing for the sake of arguing.

You know blndweasel your right in one sense if they don't have the $$$ for a nice Vette and are modding what they can afford I can respect that. Hell my first car was a $400.00 Charger with a wimpy 318. So in retrospect I am not downing the Hondas what I am saying is if your engine is not heavily modded why set yourself up for embarrisment by putting all these stickers on it and risk being beaten by a stock car. For example if I put Merlin 560 on my hood when I have a 350 under the hood I would be embarrised to lose a race and then pop hoods and have the winner shake his head in disbelief at my vain attempt in showing off. If you got it flaunt it. If you don't be conservative, be happy with what you have and hopefully save till you have the $$$ to complete your mods. Just my .02, and I admit I could be wrong. :D

hehe, of ALL the freaking HOnda's the Civic is the least worthy...every one of the POS I see on the road leaves a blue cloud behind it with not 100k miles on it...every one...
now let's hotrod that poor overworked engine and see how long it lasts....

nuff said....

OH...one wheel drive is not impressive either...

Yeah but each sticker is worth 5 horsepower, so add all the stickers together and that boosts the Civic to 75 axle twisting horsepower.

WHY do so many people sweat the little things?? What an individual does to their car or the slang they use is their own business. Stop stressing, you'll probably live longer.

this old saying certainly applies to this young ricer... it is better to remain silent, and be thought a fool.... then to speak and remove all doubt.

The problem is I never pick a race with them, They always try messing with me. I think to them it's like pulling on Superman's cape and they get some sort of thrill out of it. Most of the time if they are playing with me they aren't seriously trying to race but just want to see my car run. I think the healthier car your running the more of this behavior you'll see, I know I see it happen a lot more with the big block then I do with the 86. I can't blame them, a big block vette at full song is music to the ears and eyes.

I've seen an Accord w/ a V8 350 Chevy engine swap. Maybe he was just making sure you weren't confused thinking it was that car? heh...

I daily drive a Civic or Accord (Accord is better long distance), and they are great. I love the gas milage, and they are both rather comfortable. For performance, well that's why there is a vette out front! But otherwise, as cars, Honda's are great.

I was thinking of a few other stickers which could be made:

"Powered By Controlled Explosions"
"Powered By Dead Dinosaurs"
"Powered By 8 Pistons"

Of course there are others that could be created but I don't know how receptive everyone else out there would be to those. Like if I used the "controlled explosions" one, I wouldn't want to take the risk of someone knifing my tires or scratching my paint just because I was "making fun of _____" when in reality I wasn't.

Couldn't agree more 383, I'm not sweating anything just like poking fun at stupid people. Actually I think the saying is "don't sweat the petty things just pet the sweaty things"

I wouldn't use POWERD by HONDA I was at the track this friday and I almost died with so many ricers but hanged on enough to see that these "POWERD by HONDA" were runnig 18's in the 1/4  they made alot of noise and plastic but no gutt. Given that I would have to say that the best motto would be "hardly moved by honda" :smash: :smash: :smash:
