hey joe, you really should have seen it. it would have made more sense to you. i mean, seriously, this thing wasn't much wider than a 2x4! and we're talking about a auto-x where the MAX speed on the fastest part of the course was about 40-45mph. and that was on the 'straight-a-way', just imagine how slow the turns were. now if the guy had shown up with the wing from a c5-r then, yeah, i'd understand the misconception that it would have been benificial. but at 40mph the ony advantage the wing would give would be a net weight increase on the back wheels of about 5#.

- It the same as the "powered by Ford" valve covers on all the old timy fords

- I went to the Import/Brand X Drags this weekend and saw Lisa Kubo run an 8.33 in the 25¢ in a 4cyl nat'ly aspir. Civic... I don't giva poopie what you're driving, thats damn quick.
I also watched a kid run a 10.32 in a 4dr 92 Galant sleeper with a turbo on street tires, the 02 Mustang GT in the right lane ran a 15.xx.

ok...I hear you then. I guess I just feel bad for the people that try hard to fit in but have no guidance. I use to work at a paintball field that was much like this...kids would show up with the best gear and try making friends but people wouldn't accept them claiming the person was a 'poser' or worse. Sometimes people just need a friend and some guidance.

In this case, well, some times people just need a stern slap in the face. :nono:

The Honda driver is saying, just let me do my thing, and you do your thing.

DG your right and we have that right and liberty. That's what makes this country so great (well except New Jersey  ) and that's why I have dedicated the last 16 years of my life defending that. Don't get me wrong I'm just cutting up for fun's sake. Feel your pain Dog.

I kin totally relate t'yo' 'espuh'ience, aldough ah' gots'ta add mah' own comments t'de list.

Man! Fust ah' dink most uh us agree dat Ricers is poseurs, who rollr predominantly asian made vehicles, dere is American ricers - called "honky rice" who roll caveliers and camaros and mustangs and whut gots ya'.

Dose out dere who turn deir Honda, Mitsu o' whuteva' into true puh'fo'mance machines ARE NOT ricers, dey is hot rodders in de finest sense. Let us not fo'get dat sump'n real similar wuz goin' on all drough de early 70's and even de lat 60's when dudes would stick GTO baaaadges on deir LeMans, hang some few holley and moon stickers onteh car, Buckwheat it down in de back (likes deir favo'ite drag hero) but inde end do nodin' t'real add any puh'fo'mance.

Lastly as it relates t'wing's, probably 60% uh de wing's I've seen is made wrong and would create lift not waaay downfo'ce, second, most uh dese wing's is so damn tiny dat da damn likeslyhood dey would create any waaay downfo'ce at all be quesshunable (I dont care how fast dey go).

..but you know with those Hondas with all their modded power you know that when you come down to it that you know you are still driving a Honda.
I'm not siding with anyone here, I just don't understand this statement. Does it infer that Honda makes inferior vehicles? No matter what you have crammed under your hood, it's still a Chevy. Goto the Ferrari boards and you'll see that a few times.

I love my Corvette, more so than any vehicle I've ever had, but every one is looking for something different. Some people WANT to own a Honda, for their own reasons.

I'm not hatin' ya, dawg, but if this is a put down, I don't get it. :chevy

That's right people can have the right they want, do what they want. My freedom is to make fun of them.
I'll break it down to you Barney style...It's real easy....think like me, do like me and your cool like Fonzy. :D Other than that I'm making fun of you.

This one will get the liberals upset.

Well Cali put it rather bluntly but I think really the intent of the statement is making a comparison of the uniqueness, of the vehicle. For example a Honda Civic is a fairly ubiquitous car, it will most like never achieve any status beyond that which it has now - inexpensive, reliable transportation. It is a point A to point B car, and to automotive enthusiasts will never be considered a classic or desirable as a possible collectable (collectable based on its desirability of the vehicle as a personal statement or due to its historic connotations - i.e. only american sports car - Im not basing its collectability on the off chance that someday someone will own the only one)

Ferrari guys definitly will dis on vettes we are talking two different worlds here, just like we are talking two different worlds between vettes and "insert random econobox here". but there is a big difference between just any chevy and a corvette - whereas there is little difference between any Honda.

Basic econoboxes are just that, $10000 invested in a $6500 used honda will never increase the value of that honda - Investing money in a Corvette, provided you make the right choices could concievably increase the value of the corvette.

At least thats my take on it.
