HERE COME THE FLAMES BUT...being somewhat in the middle of generations I dont find the talk so stupid. For example "why you being a hater, dog" is the 00's equivilant of the 70's"why are you harshing my mello, dude".
Could somebody please translate either phrase to 60's jargon??

I know you are all having fun with this, but I will bite. Translation to 60's jargon, not sure about that, but to spell it out...it basically means dont make a rude comment just because you are jealous. A "player hater" is someone who dislikes someone else because they have, or are able to do etc something someone else cant. At least that is my usual take on it. So "dont be a hater dog" means "dont make your smart **** comments, man, or dude or dog." Even though in this case the person making the statement is not envious of the honda, the honda driver is saying, just let me do my thing, and you do your thing.

Cali, as you and others have chimed in. I feel the same way. There are those that really do cool stuff with their cars, be it a honda or a vette, and those who are "posers". Now which is worse a honda dude, with all the stickers, or a guy who buys a z06 but cant change the air filter? Thats a tough call for me. But I guess at least the vette is a vette. :D

i think i have to agree with much of what was said above. 'ricer' is a poser. i don't care what people work on. if it's a honda or hudson, if they're trying to make it go faster then i can respect that. ricers take all shapes and forms, and they drive all different kinds of cars. last week i was at an autocross (a very low speed autocross) and this "kid" was 'adjusting his wing' to the autocross setting!   what's really sad is---it was mounted on a c-5!

And the problem with this is what? If he is autocrossing, what is wrong with having a rear wing for a little more traction? Now if it was a front-wheel drive (insert car here [try civic]) then I would understand your complaint. Please explain this.

He said very low speed autocross, low speed means low airflow therefore no downforce on a wing. Meaning that he was completely wasting his time adjusting a wing that wouldn't see enough airflow for any effect.

Here is my take on it... most ricers are imports. reason is they start with less HP so it takes much more to make a good car out of it. BUT the same thing holds true in old american cars!! I saw my first Riced camaro this weekend at the drag strip...I was rolling on the floor cause he got beat by a neon!! He had a poopieload of performance parts stickers on his windows, chrome sidepipes and EVEN a scoop coming out of the hood. Looked like a 11 or 12sec car. ended up to be a 15sec car! I thought about walking up to the guy but I knew I'd be too mean... Should've taken a pic. :(

I kin totally relate t'yo' 'espuh'ience, aldough ah' gots'ta add mah' own comments t'de list.

Man! Fust ah' dink most uh us agree dat Ricers is poseurs, who rollr predominantly asian made vehicles, dere is American ricers - called "honky rice" who roll caveliers and camaros and mustangs and whut gots ya'.

Dose out dere who turn deir Honda, Mitsu o' whuteva' into true puh'fo'mance machines ARE NOT ricers, dey is hot rodders in de finest sense. Let us not fo'get dat sump'n real similar wuz goin' on all drough de early 70's and even de lat 60's when dudes would stick GTO baaaadges on deir LeMans, hang some few holley and moon stickers onteh car, Buckwheat it down in de back (likes deir favo'ite drag hero) but inde end do nodin' t'real add any puh'fo'mance.

Lastly as it relates t'wing's, probably 60% uh de wing's I've seen is made wrong and would create lift not waaay downfo'ce, second, most uh dese wing's is so damn tiny dat da damn likeslyhood dey would create any waaay downfo'ce at all be quesshunable (I dont care how fast dey go).
