couple different ways to do it. You can plug a wire into the spade in the fuse box labeled IGN, or remove the main harness plug at the engine side of the firewall,(takes a 3/8 socket to remove the bolt in the center) and replace the resistance wire with a regular wire.
I would suggest that you leave the resistance wire in place. Later on you (or a future owner) may decide the points ignition is the best way to go and need that resistance wire. Just tape-off the terminal and label it for 'posterity'.
Then, you can trace it down to where that wire leaves the terminal housing (firewall side of the fuse block). Strip the wire back a bit and solder (or crimp) a 'regular' wire of the same size at that spot. Then tape or insulate that joint. Run the new (non-resistor) wire up to the coil and crimp a new lug onto it. Assemble and you're good to go.
Make sure the model of electronic ignition you buy does NOT need the resistance wire to connect it properly. Some units are made to connect with the resistance wire already in the car.
