With all due respect 7T1vette, your assessment is incorrect. 80% of the time, an electrical problem occurs is with the wiring. The other 20% is the component. In this case the starter/solenoid.
Only true if wiring is incorrect.
Do you change light bulbs or wiring in your home more often?
Get a grip.

I never said 7T1 didn't know what he was talking about. Don't say I said something I didn't say. I said: With all due respect. And continued to simply stated that 80% of auto electrical issues are not due to components and are due to faulty wires.Read what I said carefully. It shouldn't be very difficult although it depends on your level of education.
Perhaps they can't grasp the ladder because there's no such thing as a Pol-Galt. Speaking of grasping something, electrical concepts are very far from your grasp.
you came back and revived the same dead thread to argue your point again? i have repaired quite a few wires in 50 years of being an electrical rebuilder and fairly capable backyard a$$hole mech. but the number of components i replaced is uncountable. and i am too poor to replace something that is not bad. so i always know what it needs before i buy it. it is more like 5% wiring issues tops. and usually then cuz some clueless person thought 80% of the problem is with the wires so they effed with wires they had no business cutting. just go back away. mods, please lock this thread.

Derek,
This is what happens when a certain ward of the "special" hospital gets all new lap-tops and internet service.
Eventually, they will lose the privilege. (or take their meds)
