I climbed under the rear and this is what I found.
1AT6768W.
Pumpkin stamped 5 15 8.
Build date of car was June 14th 1968.
Drive train 427/390
Trans m20.

not sure what the 1 means. 1st shift on the production line, maybe?
AT = 3.08 Heavy Duty Positraction (427)
6768 = June 7, 1968
W = Warren plant where it was manufactured.
