Going to rebuild my quadrajet. part number 17057204 . Having a tough time deciding which rebuild is correct. Any recommendations. I hear good things about NAPA kits.Thanks

Unless your carb has a brass float, you should replace it with a new Nitrofil (or brass) unit. Old 'foam' floats tend to break down and can get fuel logged.
As mentioned, the seal on the accelerator pump needs to be Viton or 'ethanol capable' material. If the rebuild kit vendor doesn't know, get it somewhere else.
Also, it makes no difference whether your carb was manufactured by Rochester or Carter. The only significant difference between them (if they have the same part number) is the embossed brand name on the body casting. Carter was just an additional vendor for the same product, as Rochester did not have capacity to build enough of them.
