Default timing light hook up

Hey guys, new to the corvette world and I have a question about hooking up a timing light. With the battery behind the seat, where can I hook up the power leads for the light. the leads on my craftsman timing light are not long enough to reach the battery. Any ideas would be great. was wondering if I can hook the to the alternator and engine block to power it. thanks for the help, you guys rock

I use the alternator leads. Just don't do like I did a few years ago and accidentally touch one to the other. "Spark".....fried the alternator.

Any 12 volt source will work, the battery doesn't even need to be in your car. But as mentioned above, I pull off the alternator.

I use the positive post on the alternator and a ground on the engine or frame.
