roller cam issue

hello all, I am building a 468 bb for my 74 vette, and am installing a roller cam and lifters from comp cam. the intake I want to buy is the gm #3963569 for hood clearance. I have read some on-line comments that this intake may have clearance issues in the lifter valley with roller lifters. does anyone have first hand knowledge? thank you

Had to remove the oil shield but otherwise it fit fine. As I'm switching to an electric choke I'm not using the cross over port anyway.

Were you actually hitting the oil shield or just close. I'm changing my stock 69 427 L-36 with the stock 3947801 aluminum intake over to a Comp roller and hadn't heard of this before.

I didn't build it but that's what the engine builder told me. The lifters are Morels and he said they made contact.

Running comp rollers

and use a GMPP valley shield without issue

It's all under a 39478014 (q-jet) manifold but that doesn't affect where the shield sits

Valley shield definitely wouldn't fit with the LS6 intake.

Even with the oil should removed it would sit 1/2 too high to seat.

I wouldn't have thought they were any deeper into the valley than the L36 intakes. Something new every day.
Heat shield isn't on mine (part of the reason for the valley shield) but it fit and cleared the lifters
