Default Windshield Date Code...

Guys,

What is the configuration of the windshield date code for a 1969 coupe? I know it's on the lower passenger side but that's about it.

Is the code readable from the inside looking out or outside looking in?

Also, is the code sandblasted on the inside, outside or inside the laminations?

Thanks,
Sum

As you have found the LOF logo, SAFETY PLATE, and a two-letter manufacturing date code are etched into the the lower right side of the windshield. In the date code, one letter represents the month and the other denotes the year. "ASI" is written in the upper right portion of the windshield. The letters are white and sandwiched between the laminates of the glass, not etched into the surface like the LOF logo and date code.

Hi sum,
The logo, manufacturer's information, and the date code, are etched into the exterior surface of the windshield, but is read from the interior side.
Typically you can JUST feel the etching with your finger tip.
Regards,
Alan

71 glass, read from the inside.
