I need keyless entry and antitheft
but somehow I don't want to "molest" my C3 never felt that with other cars that I have/had, this ain't no show car, but I guess the though of some lame incompetent, installer making matters worse irks me.
let say I get over this fear...
my car has no power locks and I would , should I install and interior switch? since they have to put actuators in the door?
what brand is a good brand and as for the alarm, I have had in recent cars, cheap no name brands that fail to perform over time,
I can't/ won't spend huge money, but will spend a reasonable amount to do it right the first time
where do I stick the blinking light? if that place is hard to get to for get about it, don't want them to tear the car up...
The 70 has a fully restored factory alarm system. When it hits the road, it'll have a hidden electric fuel pump switch also. An also a shifter console plate that shows the shift pattern for a Muncie, when the car has a TKO600 5 speed.
My 08 has the standard anti-theft features including On-Star which I subscribe to every year. It also has LowJack. On-Star transmits the GPS coordinates of the car and Low Jack provides a radio beacon for the police to home in one. Unfortunately, both alarm systems require me to telephone a number to tell them the car is stolen. Once I make the phone call, both transmitters are active. The thief can defeat On-Star by disconnecting the battery, but LowJack has it's own battery.

Adding the switches and solenoids should be pretty easy, they are also available
The factory alarm was a pretty simple thing, but that also made it easy to replace

my factory alarm works fine, nothing like a blinking light and warning chirps
besides sticking the key into the car every time I need to open it or the passenger side, is a set up to scratch the paint, it's nuts
should i defeat the factory alarm?,
should i install a siren? if yes where in the front nose?
I also have a hidden battery disconnect with constant 12vdc ran for alarm and radio. It's all justa deterant if I'm not by the car. Most thieves want to get in/out quickly, make it difficult to steal and so on they are likely move on to something easier. Not true for every case. I always have the glock right next to me too.

the po install a starter kill, under the ash tray, but i think a blinking light and warning chirps goes a long ways to prevent "vandalism" not only outright theft.
