I have used a 670 CFM Holley Street Avenger on my LT1 when I have had the original carb off for service. Pretty much bolt on, especially the fuel lines although I believe you will have to use the original float bowl fittings. I used the power source from the idle solenoid to power the electric choke. They also make a 770 CFM model but mine ran fine with the smaller one. If you go this route make sure the PCV fitting on the throttle plate is on the passenger side as opposed to the rear. I have seen them both ways.
I found the stock jetting was much too lean for my 355 build on the avenger 670.... had to up the jets to 72 mains and 74 secondaries as well as the squirter to a larger size to prevent bogging.. Everyones engine is different depending on how well it breathes and consumes fuel though..
I would just buy a rebuilt or new muscle car replacement from holley which is the same carb thats already on the LT1...
As said before, if it is an original carb, get it rebuilt. I had my trips done by www.vintagemusclecarparts.com They work great and had a two week turn around time.
The ol' 3310-1 Holley is still an unbeatable bargain.
I always thought the LT-1 had too much carb on it.....but it worked.
The 3310-1 is a 750 Vac Sec.

If you've a legit LT-1, whatever you do, don't choke it down with an undersized aftermarket carb. Best options IMHO are to rebuild your original (hang onto it either way) or replace it with the same model Holley.

I wasn't aware that anything in my post could have been taken that way. My point was to discourage buying into interweb propaganda that a 600-650 is the best thing since sliced bread, especially on an LT-1.

It was sort of general.....No Big Deal.....
Remember when the ZZ crate engine came out? Everyone dyno'd it with a 750 vac sec. It is just what it liked.
