Cutting off Bumperettes
Just seeing who out there has cut off their 75-79 bumperettes. I'm wonder if its easier to buy a 74 bumper and add the extra center material or cut off the bumperettes?

A couple members have removed the bumperettes/filled in the holes/sanded/repainted the area.
Just be careful if you cut them off/take your time so you do not gouge the surrounding area.

FWIW: there is impact material behind them up front.

73-74 bumper covers will not fit your car without body work.

I'd buy a fiberglass bumper and trim them.

Seems a lot of people do not like the ugly little tacked on bumperettes,
My 69 came with a modded 73-79 front clip, the silver pic then after I sold the clip the buyer sent me a pic of their work primer.
I would start with a fiberglass bumper....

74 nose and fill in the gap is my plan. (even though I already have fiberglass 77 nose, still seems simpler)

A '75-'79 fiberglass one is being shipped to me for my '77 project. I'm planning to chop off the bumperettes and central license plate rectangle. We should compare notes when we're done.
It's coming with a '74 fiberglass bumper for the rear. So it'll be completely bumperette-free.
