Dash says "Head light"
The light should come on when you turn the lights on, and go out when they are up all the way.
If you unplug the right switch and the light goes out, the problem is with the right switch.
If you unplug the right switch and the light stays on, re-install the plug and move over to the left side.
If you unplug the left side and the light goes out, the problem is with the left side.
If you unplug the left switch and the light stays on, you may a problem with both switches. Problems could be out of alignment or a bad ground somewhere in the system.
With both switches unplugged the light should be out. If not, you have an open/ground somewhere.

The arrow points to the 'tab' on the headlight mechanism which pushes on the button that the line points to on the switch.
The odd 'bolt' to the left of the arrow is hex headed and can be turned with a wrench to adjust how far the headlight mechanism opens and ensures that the button gets pushed to turn the dash warning off.
Check that the button on both switches is being closed.
All this comes into play if there's not an electrical problem as Revi describes.
