Hello guys, power steering on my '73 suddenly starts to act louder and louder. Not only in extreme positions but already when the steering wheel is moved some more. Are there any hints for a quick and easy fix or it is time to replace the PS pump? Thank you.

Have you checked the fluid....you did not write that the pump was at correct fluid level.
'Howling' is usually due to being low on fluid. If you put fluid in it and it still makes noise when turning the wheel...and you KNOW the belt is at correct tension....then it may be the pump is worn out.
