Hope someone can help. I have a 1968 Convertible I am restoring. Just took both the door panels off...I believe they are original to the car....because both were badly cracked and weathered.

I was planning on reusing the door panel lock **** trim plate (vs buying new) as they are in decent shape. But they look like they are riveted in (versus slip nut or pins on the other door trim).

Does anyone know how to remove these so they can be reused?

I ground off the rivets with a Drexel when I reused mine. When I did it I used the search option on here and found some good info on doing it along with how to reattach them.

Hi B,
d is right, the rivet ends need to be filed/ground off to release the trim piece from the door panel.
Even reproduction trim pieces are now held in place using VERY small screws that mount in threaded posts on the trim piece.
Some people are duplicating that on original trim pieces that they're reusing.
