Default Quick question on bolts

Hey guys got a quick question about bolts on the caliper. Was getting ready for reinstalling front right caliper on the car when I noticed one bolt is shorter than the

other. Did a quick remove of the front left caliper bolts and saw they are both the same size, the size of the longer one. I checked through all the bucket of bolts Dad left, and found no matches (I believe they are all engine bolts, will check more on that later). I suspect that is why Dad used this shorter bolt. They are both fine thread. My question then comes are these a standard grade bolt on the caliper or are they more like a grade 8? The top of the shorter one makes me think it appears to be a specialty bolt, but the heads of the longer one - and the two off the driver's side - which I put back- are not clear enough to tell. Can you help?

Sorry some of these aren't real clear. May borrow from the left front to get the right front put back together. May have to get a new bolt (guessing so), but that is trip to town, 23 miles away, one way. Ain't going for just one bolt today. TIA for your help!

Hi Andy,
Front caliper to mount bolts are all the same length (1 1/4") and originals have 6 slashes.
The bolts also have a 'heavy' split lock washer of the type used certain other places on the chassis and running gear.
Regards,
Alan

The caliper mount bolts are supposed to be 7/16"-24 grade 8 bolts for safety reasons alone. Grade 2 bolts have no marking, grade 5 bolts have 3 lines, and grade 8 bolts have 6 lines.

I sourced some replacement bolts from a CAT equipment dealer. I thought they were
1 1/8" with a shoulder. IIRC a 1 1/4" would contact the front rotors.

Sorry, I must correct you.....they are 7/16"-20 threads...3/8" fine thread is 24 threads per inch, & so is 5/16" fine threads @ 24 t.p.i, but 7/16" fine threads is 20 tpi, whereas the 7/16" COARSE thread
is 14 tpi. 7/16"-14 coarse threads are on the upper control arm studs!

I'm using nothing but GR. 8 bolts, (they're "GR8"....get it!!) washers & lock nuts...all yellow dichromate plated, on ALL the front end suspension rebuild I'm currently ready to put back together.

Fun starts if you have a rust freezed GR8 bolt
So using only them everywhere has some disadvantages too.

AFAIK = As Far As I Know

and the one that fits Corvette owners when it's time to buy parts or pay for work:
