Default Speedo Drive Gear

I have lost my notes on this subject. I have had my speedo recalibrated twice now, and still seems to be off.

My question is on the speedo driven gear. The speedo is slow by 5mph (Example: 60 speedo=65 on GPS . If you want the speedo to read faster do you go up in gear teeth or down?

I have had all this information at one time, but have now lost it and don't remember.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure, but I think you lose teeth to increase observed speed.

If you have the ZIP catalog, it's stated in there which way to go.

I can check when I get home if no one corrects me or agrees with me by then.

BTW, you should be able to pick the gears up at your local Chevy dealership (I would hope they'd know the answer for sure too).

jerryp58 is correct. Less teeth on the driven gear will speed up the speedometer.
