Default Another Lift option

Thought I'd share my experience. Here is another lift option for those of you considering a purchase. I bought this in March. It is a 38" rise scissor lift that leaves the center of the car open for work.

MR6K-38 • BISON-Mid-Rise-38-Auto-Lift (110Vac)
$1,935.00 Shipping $216.00 Total $2,151.00

I have used this lift for many jobs this year on both my C3 and C5. Both fit well. My C5 is lowered for autocross so I have some 2x12's for front and rear tires. The lift has been great. It has made life so much easier. I have done flywheel/clutch swop, muncie removal/service, engine removal, poly suspension bushings on the C3. I have aslo installed a racing suspension on the C5. I regularly use it for wheel changes for the C5 (Autocross to road sets).

I did not have the wingspan for a two post to stay in place, and I also did not want a 4 post set of legs. 4 Post and 2 post would have had me redoing garage doors and working on foundation (2 post) to be safe. All in all the scissor suited my arrangement best as I wanted it out of the way when not in use.

Its a great lift and I am really happy with it, having had it for 9 months now. It's heavy, but I did the collect and install alone in about 4 hrs, just work carefully and smart.

Nice and I like it but u can't use a creeper under it. And it costs more than an entry level 2 post lift.

I like it and I am in the market for one right now. Not crazy about the plastic, neoprene or whatever material the slides are made of rubbing on the metal though.

Default Looks Great!

That is a great option. It sure beats jack stands.

Does it run on 110v?

Years ago, I went with a Two -Post Lift , myself... I prefer working standing up, I m getting old.. Of course I had to pour concrete and put up a Metal Building for it... Its 11 Ft tall .. I love it.

MY PIT: 3 ft wide x 6 ft. dp. x 22 FT. Long, cement floor, block sides, heavy duty
home-built ladders....all inside a heavy insulated work area that's INSIDE a 30'x50'
stick built barn. Heat, A/C, stereo, fridge, pool table on heavy duty casters, with Harley
stuff (have had HD's since 1980) all over.....beats payin' out for a lift which would still
not give me the access this setup does....and the pit was already in the barn when I bought it....I just built my "work/party" area around IT!

Yes, runs on 110Vac which was one thing I was interested in.

As mentioned above, not as cheap as some 2 or 4 post lifts, and 38" rise has you working on a creeper seat or your butt or knees. So there are pro's and con's, rated differently by everyone, but each to his own, it was a choice based on my circumstances and is way easier, faster, and safer than jack stands. As far as cost go, I didn't need any other mod costs to my garage to make it fit (electrical, overhead door height, floor thickness/safety considerations) which I considered in my cost/effort for setup, so to me it was not just the bare cost of the lift itself. That value/rating of these will be different for each person depending on their garage design. Just take the post for information only, its just to share to help others since when I was choosing I often found the visual material shared by sellers was limited and left me wishing for more perspective. I also wanted to see vettes on it too. Feel free to ask more questions or ask for more photos.

Nice setup! Lifts are great, aren't they?! Looked at that setup for myself as well, before I decided on the single column.

110v, good access, fits in the garage with no mods, and IT IS PORTABLE!!!

Enjoy it!
