happy new year to all. i'm ready fix my horn. 71,non tilt/non tele. these are what i found in the back storage compartments of my 71. po seemed to be lost. i did not find the horn button anywhere. the black rivet is one i installed at the hardware store yesterday. it was missing one of the original white rivets. i bought 3 black ones because they worked very well and i planned on removing all white ones and cleaning everything up and then reinstall the black plastic ones. is there anything that you can see that is missing. the little black plastic sleeve does not fit very tight in its hole and i think the pin goes in large end first.am i on the right track? thanks as always. denny

Your 'black' rivets will work just fine, I used 10 X 24 X 1/2" nylon screws and nylon nuts with washers between the parts to act as insulators.

Here's a 'how to' from Willcox that you might find helpful.

thanks for the reply.i think i have it down now, just takes me awhile to study and think about it. nylon nuts look good.it looks like the two pieces of metal make contact when pushed on. the three screws fasten the piece to steering wheel mount and when you push on the horn button it makes contact with the part with the hook on it.spring on first then pin with large end in then plastic part on?rivets or plastic nuts look like they allow some give so they make contact. i think i'll remove the rivets and clean up and then reinstall. thanks again. denny
