I realize this is a older thread, but I am doing this conversion on a 73. My question is with the modification to the alternator bracket, roughly how much did the alternator drop vertically? Did you have interference with the back of the alternator and the valve cover? Thanks

I looked at this for a long time, then ended up going with lssimple.net kit. He built it to fit a c3 and is a nice guy, it fit well and he has this by itself or a kit with ac. By itself it's $225 I think

As you probably know, the drivers side has less room than the passenger side. I don't think there is enough room for the alternator on the drivers side unless you go out to the side. Just dropping it down will probably not work. There is enough room, close to the engine, on the passenger side. He're's my setup.
