Just curious here. A couple of vendors routinely promote on tech & performance. I have scanned the threads but haven't seen "tech. Related info. Isn't there a specific forum for this! I don't post often, but "check In" a couple of times a day. In my opinion these post dilute the vast knowledge base...
it would also be nice if the advertisements that are thinly veiled as a real post were somehow flagged. how many new window washing tricks treads do we need just to hock the same product over and over? at least in magazines and newspapers the "fake" news story's about a product carry an advertisement warning...
Hi 73,
Don't 'Supporting Vendors' pay for the right to make those posts?
Often the 'screen name' listed is enough of a clue to avoid the post if a person wants to.
Regards,
Alan
Alan, you are a pillar on this forum and could be correct. I would prefer the vendor share a tech. based article to educate us on their wares, but that is me. If I am out of bounds, I apologize. Jim

agree. I am sure they pay, and I get it, the site should make money, and I'm all for small business and good marketing, however, there is a clear difference between certain vendors on here that regularly post helpful advice, backup their products claims (especially when they get bashed), vendors that clearly mark their post as "sale/discount" or something, and certain others that do none of that and post ads that are intended to deceive...just a pet peeve, don't really expect anything to change...

I agree - I know some (like Wilcox) do regularly post helpful advice - and will respond to assist people when they don't have a sale at stake. I think that is completely admirable.
However, I counted no less than 4 vendors posts put up solely for the sake of advertisement ahead of this post.
Maybe I'm not understanding what the C3 Vendor For Sale forum for?
Agreed on lack of (none) technical sharing. Difference being I posed a public inquiry to moderators, not announcing another widget sold or for sale. As a senior member I didn't feel this one question would be out of line or redundant. Jim

I thought there was a forum for inquiries like that. Maybe this one...
Thank you and you are correct. No excuse here, I am on this forum from my phone on Mobile settings; I am not seeing the "full " site offerings. Jim.

I can 'say' that when I PAID to be a Supporting Vendor a long time ago....I would have posted where what I was selling was going to be seen by the most members.....regardless of where it was posted. The whole idea is to get a positive return on the investment of being a Supporting Vendor. I have NO PROBLEM with someone posting something that they are selling...AS LONG AS they are paying to be a Supporting Vendor.
