Default C4 seats into a C3

Hi, I know this has been done but I can't seem to locate a definitive story about it on the forum. Some say you have to put slots in the floor, others drill holes in the floor, I would prefer to use the C3 tracks and bolt the seats to them. What is involved to do this?

Anyone? There is a pair of seats for auction here but I don't want to bid on them if they wont fit.

You can use the C3 tracks and the factory holes in the floor. You have to drill new holes in the seat buckets. Problem with C4 seats is that you sit higher. I had C4 seats for some time but eventually swapped to the 79-82 seats which I like much better.

I have the 1st design of the 1979- 1982 seats. They fit like a glove, and would never want anything else.

I've been looking for 79-82 seats for some time, but can't find any that are in decent shape for a reasonable price. The ones I have found were more $ than if I bought aftermarket performance seats. My Dad had a 81 Vette when I was growing up and I loved those seats! Hate the stock 72 seats I have, plus my seats are pretty worn.

I have a set of C4 seats I'll let go cheap. But I'm not packing them up, so local pickup only in north Dallas.

I didn't think much of the early C4 seats. The later seats were fine. But, they would sit higher in a C3.

I decided to pull the trigger on the seats as they are the only ones I have seen come up for sale here in four years. C5 seats sound like the go but even less likely to come up for sale here! Hey Zwede your offer looks good but the 14,000 mile round trip makes pick up a bit tough for me;-)
