I'd heard that the IRS made a much bigger difference with the old non-radial tires than with modern radials. I've driven older solid axle sports cars, as I've said, and haven't been terribly disappointed in them. I figure that guys are making things like Chevelles hustle around road courses with live axle rear ends, so a Vette shouldn't be a problem.
As it were, I kind of worry about standing on it when kids in Stangs pull up next to me because I don't want to try to be awesome and end up sending a halfshaft through either rear fender.
