Default quick wheel question

im looking at some new mags for my 72. 15x8 rear 15x7 front. the rear has a 4.5 backspace. will I have to run a spacer in there to clear the e-brake and trailing arm?

The factory wheels are 15X8 with 4" backspace. You could run into interference with the parking brake cable. Why would you want go with a narrower wheel in the front?

Yes
Try to find a set of wheels you like and fit your budget that are 8" wide with 4" backspace so you have no issues.

Your car you run what you want.

MY thoughts are if it's a sports car, keep some meat up front. Drag/Muscle can have some skinny front but things that were supposed to go around corners....

Also, it's a big wheel well to fill...

As for interference, as stated, there isn't a lot of room on the brake bracket (why they get moved sometimes) and it depends on the tires also.

I had 245's on stock rims scrub the bracket lightly. Others have been fine.
I think spacers will likely be needed to get the tire back out

Probably need a spacer, have 8.5s on my rear and 7 in front no noticeable difference with same width tires.
