Default 1981 Fuel Filter - where is it?

Hi Guys - Noob question here - I just dropped in a new GM crate engine and hooking everything back up now... can someone tell me where the fuel filter is on my 1981? I'm not seeing one anywhere... is it in my carb where the hard line goes in from the fuel pump?

Here's the new quadrajet carb I have - http://paceperformance.com/i-6078484...e-1-36001.html

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Ritch,
Its right where the fuel line attaches to the carb. Its a paper filter.

Corrugated paper filter inside the fuel inlet. It has a spring behind it which must be installed and the filter needs to be installed in the proper direction. Caution: Use TWO WRENCHES to loosen the fuel line fitting and carb fitting. If you put much torque load on the carb body, it will crack. Use one wrench to hold the 'inner' fitting and keep it from turning or being loaded. Loosen nut with the 'outer' wrench. It would be best to use a 6-point tubing wrench on the fuel line nut.
